“Liveblogging” World Cup 2006: Germany vs. Costa Rica
The first game of the 2006 World Cup has just begun. Woe to all who despise the World Cup or just football in general.
And… Phillip Lahm scores the first goal for Germany - barely six minutes into the game. That’s a stupidly disoriented Costa Rican defence, and some first-class precision for you.
OMG. Barely 13 minutes into the game, Costa Rica gets one of its own via Wanchope. Was it offside? Will Costa Rica be the next Senegal? IMHO, no to both questions.
OMFG. 2-1 for Germany. Miroslav Klose nets the 2nd for Germany after an excellent pass by Germany’s own wonderkid, Schweinsteiger.
And minutes upon minutes pass. Half time passes.
And in the 61st minute, Klose strikes again for 3-1.
Should I continue watching? Probably not.
Note: Post will be updated as the game progresses. If you’re not watching the game yet, catch it on Channel 83, ASTRO.
Note 2: Post has ended (65th minute). At 3-1, I don’t see how Costa Rica is going to rebound.
