Spam: From Universities?!?

Everyone gets spam; it’s a “natural” disease spawned from the depths of the World Wide Web. But more often than not, one doesn’t get spam from the universities one applies to.

But in order to show you the “spam” I’ve received, we’ll first have to go through a short refresher: What the hell is spam? Well, I define spam as emails sent repeatedly to unwilling people, with absolutely no way to unsubscribe from receiving those emails.

So, let’s see. Based on my definition, would these qualify as spam?

  1. Cornell Engineering Admitted Students Chats (Apr 1)
  2. Cornell University Admitted Students Web Chat (Apr 3)
  3. Congratulations from the Cornell Engineering Ambassadors! (Apr 3)
  4. Reminder for Cornell Engineering chat session! (Apr 5)
  5. Cornell University Admitted Students Web Chat (Apr 6)
  6. Cornell Admitted International Students Web Chat (Apr 6)

Yes, I think so.

Edit: Got another two more today (i.e. Apr 7), bringing the grand total to eight.
